Incoming Freshman
In addition to this completed application, you will need to have the $35 application fee, a high school transcript, and SAT or ACT scores. If you were a home schooled student, you will need all of the traditional requirements plus a Home School Certification Statement, a letter of recommendation from an adult outside of your family, and official college transcripts from any other college attended.
Transfer Students
If you are looking to transfer to Hope from any other college in the United States, you need to fill out the Common Application, have the $35 application fee, your high school transcript, all other transcripts from colleges you attended, and your ACT or SAT scores.
International Students
If you are interested in transferring from any college from outside of the United States, the materials you will need are a copy of the Common Application completed, the $35 application fee, official transcripts from secondary school, Declaration of Finances Financial Support Statement, ACT or SAT scores (not required, but recommended), and evidence of proficiency in English.
All Applications must be submitted by November 1!

Scholarship Opportunities:
- Trustee Scholarships- $17,000 per year - Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic record, standardized test scores, and demonstrated leadership abilities. Finalists are selected from the applicant pool by a faculty committee. Thirty Trustee Scholarships are available per class.
- National Merit Scholarships- $17,000 per year - Scholarships awarded to students designated as National Merit Scholarship Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The Corporation will allow Hope College to sponsor these scholars who notify them that Hope is their first choice college.
- Presidential Scholarships-$6,000-$15,000 per year - Scholarships awarded on the basis of overall high school record. Dominant factors in the selection of Presidential Scholars are grade point average, standardized test scores, and rank in class. Students presenting at least a 3.6 or 90 grade point average and an ACT composite score of 28 or combined critical reading/math SAT of 1240 will be considered for this scholarship.
- Distinguished Scholar Award-$5,000 - $5,500 per year - Scholarships awarded to students based on course selection, grade point average, class rank, and standardized test scores.
- Valedictorian Scholarship- $5,000 per year- Scholarships awarded to high school valedictorians who are not selected to receive one of the other Hope-sponsored merit-based scholarships.
